What We
Believe
We believe
that the Bible teaches: That the Scripture, both the “Old” and
the “New” Testaments, were verbally inspired by God, without
error in the original writings, and that they are supreme and
final in authority.
That there is one God eternally existent in three Persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, co-equal in power and glory,
identical in their essential nature, attributes and perfection.
That the Lord Jesus Christ was begotten in the flesh by the Holy
Spirit through the Virgin Mary, being thus true God and true
man, and the only Mediator between God and Man.
That the Holy Spirit is that a Person of the Triune Godhead, who
convicts men of sin and indwells believers for a life of victory
and seals them unto the “Day of Redemption.”
That Satan is a personality, that he is the archenemy of God and
man, that he seeks to discredit and dishonor God and to deceive
those whom God would save.
That man was created by God in His image, not a product of
evolution, but that man fell into sin and thereby in creed to
himself prosperity, not only physical death, but also that
spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human
beings are born with sinful nature, and totally depraved, having
no spark of divine life.
That the Lord Jesus Christ voluntarily died as a substitutionary
sacrifice for our sins and that all who believe Him are
justified by His death, burial, and resurrection.
That salvation is not of works, but by grace alone, and that all
who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith as a personal Savior,
are born again of the Holy Spirit, thus becoming the Children of
God, and are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and baptized by Him into
that Spiritual Body (the Church) of which Christ is Head.
That all who trust fully in saving power of the Lord Jesus
Christ are eternally secure and that their final state shall be
one of eternal bliss with God and the “redeemed” of all ages.
That our Lord was raised from the dead, that He ascended into
heaven where He is now “High Priest” and “Advocate” for all true
believers.
That a local “New Testament Church” consists of a company of
believers baptized into Jesus Christ who, by leading of the Holy
Spirit, have voluntarily associated themselves for worship, for
instruction and for service for our Lord as a local
manifestation of the Body of Christ.
That a local “New Testament Church” is an autonomous body and
must be free from interference by any convention, ecclesiastical
or political authority.
That
Church and State must be kept separate as having different
functions, each fulfilling its duties free from the dictates or
patronage of the other.
That water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper are the
only ordinances of the Church of this age. That Christ is
coming again personally, bodily, visibly, to this earth to set
up His millennial Kingdom.
That the saved shall appear in Heaven at the Judgment Seat of
Christ to receive rewards and to dwell with him for all
eternity. The lost shall be judged at the Great White Throne
and be cast into eternal hell. |
